2. In Architecture: a whimsical or extravagant structure built to serve as a conversation piece, lend interest to a view, commemorate a person or event, etc.: found especially in England in the 18th century.
Things are moving along quickly--or it certainly seems so after such a long wait. Despite the dreary and wet weather, holes are being dug, earth is being moved, and I now have a basement. How exciting is that!
