Best Laid Plans
To keep everyone abreast of my moving progress... I got to the house last Tuesday afternoon to take final pre-move photos—and it was a total mess! Not clean at all. I first panicked, then fumed, and finally scrambled — and was (fortunately!) able to reschedule the movers for next Tuesday and Wednesday. I won't deny tears were close to the surface, but I met a friend and had a glass of wine instead! This was totally frustrating because—as anyone who's moved can attest to—everything was scheduled like clockwork: move from rental, cut off utilities, start utilities, clean rental, Sadie at the kennel, etc. And on that Tuesday, I'd packed up everything except my toothbrush —so no food in the cupboards or utensils to eat it with. Lots of phone calls, apologies, and rescheduling! Contrary to my non-confrontational, keep-the-peace, don't-rock-the-boat personality, I did let loose on the builder, who was responsible for the cleaning and timing. He'd h...
